About the challenges itself, after going through Zachtronic games I came to the conclusion that it should be something like Magnus Opus for the manual assembling tasks, challenges based around a system to engage the player's logic, and that the programming challenges should be something like ExaPunks, a system of programming hidden within the 'skin'of something, like how ExaPunks appears as a spatial puzzle upon first glance but is actually a programming puzzle.
